As an aside, I brought my DCs at the playground today and there were 8 nannies there with their charges and they were all doing an amazing job. I was really impressed with how well they worked and played with the children and watched out for everyone's charges. This is the regular group that my DC plays with almost every day and it made me feel very comfortable with how they spend their days. so thank you to all the wonderful nannies and APs out there!

Maybe because the kids didn't refer to the nanny by mom. They referred to her by name?

Lots of moms get off on their kids calling them by their first name.

Today, April 18 around 1:00 I saw two nannies that were not properly supervising the two kids they care for. When we arrived the nannies were sitting at a picnic bench outside of the playground eating, one had her back to the playground. In the 2 hours I was there with the kids I watch, the nannies didn't interact with the children at all. When the young girl walked to the swings (clearly hoping to be pushed) the nanny yelled to come back because they were "going home". When the little girl wandered back the nanny proceeded to sit down and eat again for at least 40 more minutes. Later on, I took my kids to the big kid side of the playground and shortly after the two other kids came over, one pushing the other on one of the parks tricycles. Neither of the nannies bothered to follow them around the building that separates the playgrounds. The older kid proceeded to push the other kid on the tricycle down the 5 foot slope leading to the courts below. The girl started crying so we ran down to check on her and told them to go back towards their nannies. Minutes later one nanny walked around the building and I yelled and waved to show where they were but she didn't notice. Then they both came around the building and we got their attention. The little girl, Lilliana (Lilly) looked just over 2 with short curly brown hair and was wearing pink pants and a lime green jacket. The boy, Alexander looked 4 and had an orange Gap sweatshirt on with the hood covering his hair. The nannies were hispanic one wearing a blue and black plaid sweatshirt and the other a black vest and capris. I understand not all nannies play with the kids they watch, but to have kids this young out of your sight for 15 minutes is ridiculous...especially next to a busy road. If I was a parent I would want to know this information about how my kids are being "watched"!
