In her diaper bag, I insisted on having and using my own and politely asked that they not (freaking) TOUCH it, since I always left it stocked and they...didn't do the same for theirs.

MB here. We used to share a diaper bag, then I bought a more "purse" looking one and the old one became "everyone else's" bag (nanny, DH, grandma).

The everyone bag is pretty small -- diapers, wipes, a small first aid kit, bug spray wipes, shout wipes, sunscreen wipes (my husband has a wipes addiction), kleenex, and two pockets on the outside that fit water bottles.

I was actually thinking about getting her her own bag because she has left her keys a couple of times and had to come back for them, but she likes to change purses daily to match her outfits, and I'm not sure it would make a difference. I think she'd just leave the diaper bag at our house anyway.

My bosses just leave the diaper bag with whoever has the baby. There's no need for a separate one.

Oh...and I forgot...some baby washclothes and a couple cloth diapers for spit ups.

I think it's great that you can have your own diaper bag.

Necessities to include would be: Extra bottles/Sippy cups, powder formula {for those under 1}, juice boxes for toddlers, finger foods in ziplocks {Cheerios, Goldfish Crackers, etc.}, a plastic water bottle, AT LEAST 5 clean diapers, full wipes, plastic bags {to dispose dirty diapers in}, an extra set of clothes {pants/shirts, socks + hat, etc.}, sunscreen, hand sanitizer and a few toys.

I care for twin 3 month olds. MB has a diaper bag but I decided to get my own as she doesn't keep hers that organized.

In mine I keep a change of clothes for each baby, pacifiers, spare light weight blanket, diapers and in a big zip lock bag I keep wipes, pacifier wipes, mini lotion & powder in the bag too. I also keep some random luna bars or think thin bars for myself for snacks. I makes sure to re-stock every Monday.

I prefer to keep my own bag because I've found I'm highly likely to forget my wallet/keys/phone in there at the end of the day otherwise. Like others have mentioned I also pack pretty light. A few diapers, wipes, an extra onesie, some snacks and we're good to go.

I prefer my item too. I pack light, most parents pack for a natural disaster and I'm not lugging that much crap around with me all day. I take a couple diapers, wipes, food, paci and not much else. Depending on the age, maybe a change of clothes and a toy.

I like to carry light and if its possible put everything in my long champ purse. I normally pack 4diapers for each kid, pack of wipes and one onesie each. Fit everything in a a large ziplock bag and stuff it in my bag. The baby is still on formula so ill bring a premade bottle. I've never been one to worry about consistently changing outfits and we're never out longer then 3hrs over packing seems crazy.
If we do go for a day trip ill bring the diaper bag fully stocked

My charge is 8mos and yes, MB and I have separate diaper bags- mostly because she keeps the oddest things in hers
I bought a backpack and fill it every so often with essentials and keep it in my car. Whatever I might need (when we are out) and find I didn't pack I just pick up at the store, no biggie.

I also care for twins - now 10 months. We have always had a small one for the stroller (basic needs. We live in a very walkable area so that is the main mode of transpo). One in the van with basic needs. A large twin like backpack for long outtings and traveling. I used to rotate the clothes and diapers with correct sizes when they were tiny but they have leveled off for a bit.

Both MB and I agree if we need anything and don't have it we can buy it while out.

I care for 3 month old twins and MB and i have 2 different diaper bags. On a usual outing i have, extra diapers, snappies diaper covers, wet bag/or little disposable trash bags for the disposable inserts. wipes, burp cloths, and extra pair of clothes for each baby, the formula dispenser, bottles 1 bottle of water for just in case, and my wallet. that's all what's in my diaper bag and my diaper bag is a back pack because its easier with 2. Their blankets are usually on them as well as there there binkies and there toys are on there car seats.

OP here, I obviously typed that too fast on my ipad! I meant silly question! LO is 3 months old tomorrow so still in infant stage. I have diapers, wipes, visual toys, spit up cloths, a blanket, books, snacks for nanny....any other diaper bag secrets I'm missing?? I was with my last family for 6 years so its been a while since I have had to pack a diaper bag

Hey nannies! Any nanny who cares for an infant, do you use a separate diaper bag that is your own any diaper bag or do you and MB use the same diaper bag when you go out?
MB has a spare that was given as a gift that I am going to fill as the "nanny bag" since the other usually has Mom's personal stuff in it... Any diaper bag essentials you like to have with you when out and about for walks at the park or baby story time at the library?
