Are you in a position to help her find a new/good job? The best nannies we interviewed were the ones whose previous families posted for them and did screening interviews for them. We found our current nanny that way and I fully intend to do this for her when it is time to part ways. If you can do that, I think a nominal thank you bonus and gift are more than enough.
Agree. This is probably the best thing you could give her! This and as much notice as possible. After 9 years she's probably extremely attached to your family, so leaving the door open to stay in touch would also mean a lot.
