You REALLY should say something because I was almost in the same situation (db works from home on Tuesday) and he was being really loud while on the phone and waking the babies up. It's not fair to the babies and not fair to us because then we are the ones that have to deal with the crankiness. I would have a talk with the father and explain that sleep is very important at this age for their development and the extra noise is not conducive to their sleeping. If you don't feel comfortable talking to DB talk to MB about it.

I guess you can be thankful he doesn't work from home every day. I feel the same when either of my employers are home for the day.

When in the home, his job is to work. Yes, WORK. And since the house is small, he needs to keep the noise level low, esp. during nap times.

OP here- it was a bit crazy today, but we worked thru it. Though DB did "tattle" on me to MB about the babies (btw I watch twin boys) afternoon nap and how they cried. Luckily MB knows all well how the afternoon nap is and is like oh that nap can be hell! I told her I got stuck rocking both of them for the whole nap. She's like - I hate that my butt falls asleep.

I always try to stay positive - because you get what you give. So even though it was challenging all went well. And really DB has technically missed the passed 6 months (the twins are 10 months). A lot has changed in the past months with them

DB sounds pretty juvenile and rude. His behavior does not sound like typical work at home stuff, and you may need to have a conversation going forward. Explain why his prescience makes it difficult for the children to have a good day-don't make it about your frustration (even though that's a huge part!)- and suggest that if he needs to meet with colleges, that perhaps it needs to occur out of the home. Sorry OP, I'd feel the same. Hopefully this is just one of the few times your db works at home.

So I have been lucky. My DB has been traveling for about the past 6 months, maybe home here and there (weekends and so on).
His projects are finishing up and he's home for a bit. Great for kids.
But he sometimes works from home. And today is the day!
He's so loud, the home is small - his office is right next door to the babies room. His work partners are also here. None have kids. It's like a frat party. I just put the kids down for a morning nap and they are slamming doors, have the music up talking none stop. I guess I also feel so judged when the dad is here, like he's watching everything I do. Like now it's nap time, things cleaned up, food prepped and he keeps walking into the kitchen watching me like I should be doing.something. He also comes out of the office - walks by the play area and the babies just cry - they see him and he's working on phone, sending email etc, but it's just annoying! They cling to the baby gate and cry!

Dear lord it's gonna be a LONG day! We are going to take a nice long walk today, maybe I'll take the kids to lunch - just to stay out longer!

Sorry don't like to be negative, normally I'm fine with parents being home - I was just unprepared for it today.
