She could be asking you again to compare and see if your story changes. People lie or exaggerate things when seeking jobs and she could just be trying to 'interrogate' you. Lol, idk.

OP it is unfortunate that you are running into this often.

This particular woman sounds disorganized and is not doing a very good job putting together candidates. Where are you finding this families?

I would recommend going through a reputable nanny agency in your town.
That way, there is a third person who can assist both sides and can match you with a family who thinks and acts like you do.
These nannies usually do not charge nannies. They make their money from families, etc.

I'm an MB. If I had that kind of experience with someone , whether I was the one looking for the job or the one looking to be hired, I would consider it a major red flag. Obviously they're not paying attention, and/or you're one of so many candidates that she can't keep them straight.

To make the leap from that to presuming that everyone hiring now is clueless or rude however, is pretty silly.

I have been with a family for the past 4 years. We are about to part ways soon, and so, I am looking for a new job. Is it just me (have I not had to interview for a while), or are many of the people hiring right now completely clueless, to the point where it is bordering on rude? I guess I think that if you are going to put the work into employing someone in your household, and reasonably expect that they will be professional and experienced, shouldn't you at least do some basic research into how things "work"?
My most recent experience, to clarify: potential MB and I have message 4 times, each time she obviously sends me a mass message, and each time I respond with something genuine and thoughtful. The most recent message was to set up an interview, but asked me ALL of the questions that she has asked in our previous correspondences (my education, experience, their needs, etc...). At this point, I feel almost insulted that she can't be bothered to remember who she is messaging with, and am considering not taking things further. Am I totally out of line/overreacting here, or would you take this as a sign of other problems to come? And why does it seem like this is becoming the norm more and more often?
