Sure, an AU student sounds perfect. You may want to up that 15. to 16 or 17. That would help you to stand out against the other zillion families looking.

A student would be your best bet for this!

You might need to find two people for MWF/TTH depending on class schedules, or you may find someone who's free every day after that time.

I would think $13-15/hr for a student doing this job.

I'd be interested in hearing about people's experiences with a PT nanny used solely for after school care. DD will be 3 yrs old in the fall, and we are thinking about sending her to a private preschool in the neighborhood. We would need someone to pick her up from school at 3:30, walk her home, and look after her until 6:00 or 6:30. Total weekly hours would be 13-15. What is the market like for this type of work? Who does it? We live in AU Park in NW DC, so I was thinking that maybe an AU student would be interested.
