How many kids? Even as a strong swimmer, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be taking multiple kids to the swim in the pool.

Yes, care.com is crawling with summer nannies.

Yes, it is possible. Students are your best choice or other nannies with down time. My charge is going away for a long summer vacation and I might be able to help. Where are you located?

I'm trying to decide whether we should do a summer full of camps or hire a summer only nanny.

When my kids were little we had a FT nanny. Loved her and loved having a nanny. We don't need a nanny during the school year because we get home at 5, the school bus would drop at 4:15, and the kids usually have after school activities until 4:45 anyway etc. After care works for fine for during the school year.

I remember back from when we were hiring a full time nanny that it was really hard to find someone who can swim. We have a pool and this summer the kids will want to use it. I would really need someone who is a strong swimmer as my youngest is a very weak swimmer. Has anyone been able to hire a nanny who swims? I was thinking of offering to pay for lifeguard training as a way of attracting swimmers.

My husband and I commute in different directions and we no longer have 3 cars. I don't want to buy a car just for the summer. Its very easy in my area to find FT nannies who provide a car but I'm not sure whether this is as common with summer nannies.

Is it better to offer a live in position for a summer nanny or live out. We could do either.
