That sounds reasonable to me; SLIGHTLY high but not outrageous.

$250 is alot for a low class family but not for a family who needs a sitter over night. It's very reasonable, IMO!

Flat rate of $100 per night is not outrageous. That's what I charge as well for some families and I do a LOT of sleepovers. I guess it depends on the area where you work. The lowest I would charge a flat rate between $75 and $100 but never per hour.

Another MB here and I agree. Regular rate (with OT if applicable)for awake hours and flat rate for overnight. For kids that are almost certainly sleeping through the night, the flat rate would be closer to 50$, not 100$.

We would pay your regular rate for when the kids are awake and a flat rate for sleeping hours, not an hourly rate.

Don't be obtuse. The kids will be asleep before OP will, so she will have some time where she can do her own thing, and yes obviously in the house but it's still some downtime.

I think $275 is great. Kids are older and for some of the time, they will obviously be sleeping so you do get a break.

Obviously it's up to the family. Your thinking is reasonable.

It would be prohibitively expensive for me (as an MB) but the only thing that matters is what you work out w/ the family.

$275. is not that much at all. If they trust you with their children, that's worth a lot.

I am going to be doing my first over night for the family i have been part time nannying for the last year next weekend. The kids are older 5,7,11 so oldest is in bed by 9 pm and all typically sleep through out the night (have done date nights till 1 am in the past).

I'm going to be working on a saturday from 1 pm till sunday at 10 am or so. I make 15 dollars an hour , so am thinking i'd charge 15 an hour from 1 pm till 9 pm and drop it done to 10 an hour once the kids are sleeping so 110 for the night . They dont have a guest room so i'd either be sleeping in the parents bed or a couch down stairs.

That still comes out to about 275 , is that to high for a day and overnight with a few hours in the morning ? The family i work for can deff afford it i just don't want to be way over priced as they have asked me to do a few over nights in the summer as well.
