I go out all the time with my family I work for. I was told the first time I went out do not try to pay for anything. We know there are things you pay for that you don't tell us about. Order a drink or two we don't care. It's better than a job I had before where I had to bring every bit of food or drink I consumed.

This is not a tiny gesture, as a PP said above. It's a really generous gesture, OP, and I think you should just enjoy it and thank them. Clearly, they enjoy your company, which is also sign of a job well done for you.

I go out to eat with my nanny family often as well.. and same deal, they never let me pay. DB told me it really does make them feel good to be able to do that for me for all I do for them so I stopped fighting for the bill. Just let them do it, it's a really nice gesture.

I eat out/order food with the family I work for all the time. I always thank them multiple times, but they would never, ever let me pay. I feel uncomfortable when people pay for me, and I know how you feel. I felt especially bad one time when DB encouraged me to order a beer with dinner. I'm sure they appreciate you offering to pay, but all you can really do is go above and beyond during work! I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one who enjoys "hanging out" with the family. I love them!
