It sounds like someone is a little bent out if shape for being called out on their crap...

There is never a fee to close your account with HomeWork Solutions. However the fee OP refers to is for us to correspond on her behalf to the taxing authorities to close her tax accounts. This can be a letter, filling out a form, etc. and these often need to be submitted multiple times before the desired action is taken. In DC this can take from months to years sadly. There has to be a sink hole where they process these requests!

And as I previously stated the year end document fees are not only standard but also clearly stated at the link above where the service fees are listed.

i went on our own a few years ago and did not pay any "closing out" fee after using them. they made it a lot simpler, particularly for the first couple years of tryign to figure things out and get all set up.

Thanks. I was going off the agreement which my account rep confirmed in writing would not have these charges. Thanks for the link but I would point out that the $50 charge is not listed there either... In any event, as I said, I have been pleased with the service and it's not a huge amount of money. Just would have been nice to have known about them before I signed up.

Our primary competitor charge $85 for the same service. It too is clearly listed on their website.

$80 for each year to do the tax filings, and then $50 to close the accounts (in addition to the yearly or quarterly charges for payroll). Not a huge amount by any means but still... I'd rather give it to the nanny!

Been a customer for a year and have been pleased with their service but a word of warning - they charge $80 to prepare your year end tax documents and $50 to close out your account in addition to the quarterly fees. Definitely ask them as you price out comparisons with other providers.
