Why should OP find the seat? This is 100% parent responsibility. OP, until they get a proper sear, REFUSEto pick kid up from school

I guess this is another reason parents try to have a separate car for the nanny. They can get the carseat properly installed, and keep it that way.

Because she only needs it for 12 hours a month and it reduces the seat capacity of her car? That seems obvious to me. It's a different story if you need it 3-4 DAYS a week.

Ask the parents to purchase a Cosco Scenera...they're light, cheap (like $40-$60), easy to install, and convertible, so it should be a perfectly safe and reasonable purchase to be used for a 1-year old.

I'll let his parents know that if they don't provide a correct size carseat I can't pick him up. They will have to discuss with the daycare where the carseat can be left for me on days I pick him up. The room he's in doesn't allow carseats or strollers to left.

I won't go purchase a carseat for a job that is maybe 12 hours a month. Also it needs to be a carseat that is easily installed because I can't have the seat a permanent thing.

If he's outgrown the infant seat by height or weight, he should not be in it. Its not safe.

Get an inexpensive seat for your own car if you have to and install it in your car.

I sometimes pick up a child from daycare and watch him for a few hours. It's only once in a while. (on average once a week).

I have been doing this since he was 4 months old. He's a big boy (super tall &.weight).

He turned a year last month and the parents finally moved to a regular carseat (even though he should have moved long ago)


Now that he's not in the infant carseat they are finding it harder to pick him up from daycare. They only bought one carseat - so if the seat is in say moms car she has to pick him up (sometimes leaving work or meetings).

I have to pick him up next week and I guess with all the frustration with the new carseat they said they would leave the infant seat (because taking out the carseat all the time has been a hassle just between the two of them and pick up/drop off). I told them I wasn't comfortable driving with him in the infant seat. It's not a long drive but still it's in a car.
I really really feel uncomfortable about this and they just aren't concerned. I'm thinking I'm going to let them know I can't drive with their child until they provide a proper carseat. And yes it will have to be taken in and out of my car ( which will be a pain but I pick him up so little - I need the space for my fulltime job).

Thoughts?
Would you just use the infant seat? Do what the parents say? Or stick to your guns and continue to say it's unsafe
