For example, my sister has an office job. She can go into work when she wants and goes at her own pace but her works always complete. It's nothing like a nanny job where you go in at a set time and you're working with children. You can't turn off the switch and 'surf the net' while they're awake. Office jobs have salaries and the computer work needs (and will) get done. Unlike a nanny who is paid to interact with their charges and have a set time for when they arrive and leave.
Please stop comparing nanny jobs to office jobs. They're completely different.

Did you miss the thread asking if the nanny should be fired, because she finished all her work, and then sat down to read, "on the clock"?

My employers are fine with it.
Well, that's the key. Your boss is fine with it. The other OP was not fine with it. Your job, 10-12 hours with small kids (I'm guessing, they ate asleep before you go) is going to be different from an afterschool shift with middle schoolers.

The above subject line is quoted from a parent, asking if they should leave a job where they get to surf the internet "all day". It's in the parent forum. I had zero interest in how people responded to her/him.
Some of you should take your heads out of the sandbox.
