Get a smart tv. I just got a Samsung from Costco for under 400.00 its a 32 in and is great for kids. Hulu Plus is 7.99 per month and more than replaces my need for cable. The TV also has a web browser so you can watch shows from different websites in addition to the built in hulu, netflix, amazon apps.

I have it. I love it, but I also have cable...if you have Netflix then you could probably get by with just the Apple TV. Without Netflix though you won't be able to watch much without buying or renting shows/movies through iTunes. If you know how to download things online then you're set or if you stream (like I do) from websites like ch131.com or 1channel.com...these are very easy and if you are using your Mac you can wirelessly mirror the screen onto your tv with the click of a button. This is also helpful if you need to use your tv as a monitor for your computer...or even if you want to set up a separate desktop on your tv so you can watch while you use the computer. Is all very easy, I promise! Apple makes everything easy.

Does anyone here have an Apple TV? Do you like it and/or think it's a better solution than cable? I'm looking to switch away from Comcast and am considering an Apple TV but was hoping to hear from other users any pros/cons you want to share.

TIA!
