Leave her alone, 6:55. She apparently has already told you she's not going to tell you. Move along and get back on topic. You're irritating.

If she's an adult woman, you ask her. And go from there.
How much do you spend on your food, per week?
That should give you a clue, assuming that you're both adults, of course.

An allowance is an amount of money set aside for a designated purpose. OP was using the term appropriately and the question is a reasonable one to ask of parents and nannies. What OP spends on food is not relevant.

If you're not a lawyer, what are you?

What does it matter? I knew what that term meant in high school. If it helps you, I also graduated from college.

If your profession doesn't matter, then do tell us what you do......

Is the nanny not worthy of similar expense?
Do you tell the nanny to have a hot dog while you have a roast?
What's the matter with some of you??
Are you really that selfish?

Are you really that obtuse?

Funny that you think anyone who knows the definition of a common term is a lawyer. I'm not.

My previous live-in position gave me $50 weekly grocery budget for myself.

I always got a cc and while doing the shopping for the family I picked up what I wanted or needed It worked well. Some times if I did I big order the week before I would just need some fruit and a case of water because I had left overs

What is a fair amount to give a nanny per week?
