I do feel much more comfortable having it, though. I suspect we will never use it, but if we do ...

+1

If you have to use it, you will think it is cheap, cheap, cheap.

Can anyone link me to where I can find rates or apply for the government program (assigned risk?) workers comp insurance? I would like to see just how much more expensive it will be as compared to State Farm, etc. I can't find online who to call or where to get rates.

Thanks!

I work for HomeWork Solutions (4nannytaxes.com) and many of our area clients purchase their Workers' Compensation insurance from Loudoun Insurance Group.

Call Bud and tell him that HomeWork Solutions referred you!

As a prior poster mentioned, you save money bundling your Workers Comp with your other policies, and it does depend on how you are currently covered if the bundling makes sense or not.

Worker's Comp is expensive. We looked at doing it every which way, and just like you found, the cheaper premiums came from places that would cost us more in other ways (higher premium for homeowner's, or payroll services). WE ended up going with the government policy.

Do you use a nanny pay service like nanny4taxes (I think) or GTM Associates (that's who we use). I think they both offer something or can send you somewhere

Sorry I can't help with your question, but am absolutely thrilled to hear that you're off to such a great start. Congratulations to you!
Weekly meetings just to "check-in" can help things running smoothly.

We just hired a nanny, and we already love her! We are trying to do right by her and are withholding taxes and paying overtime and all that. We also want to comply with DC law and therefore need to get Workers' Comp insurance. I have called around and only found Workers' Comp insurance available through State Farm, and then only if we switch our homeowners insurance to them (which is $600 more expensive than the homeowners insurance we have now). Any suggestions? I have also looked into the DC government's offered Workers' Comp and it was way more expensive.
Suggestions welcome!!

Thank you.
