You know you can delete people, right? FB seems to enjoy deleting your friends on it's own anyways, it has happened to many people and sometimes you don't realize it until you actually notice you and someone are no longer friends and neither of you deleted the other.
It gets annoying when it happens, but it also gives you the chance to delete someone and if they happen to notice that you are no longer friends, say "Oh really? That is weird! Crazy old FB must be at it again! Maybe it is best if we kept our relationship professional anyways."

You can create a "group" for them on FB and then change their settings not to be able to see your photos and posts. That way they can officially be your "friends" and it just looks like you are not very active on FB.
This is what my teenage sister did to me- all I see is a wholesome photo twice a year.

Just up your security settings so they can only see certain things. While I'm not very happy I'm friends with my MB, I still accepted her friend request. We are taking care of these peoples babies, if it puts their minds at ease the least I could do is let them see my page. Now if they were abusive of it that is another story but she hasn't even mentioned it. Just take the time to raise the security settings for you MB and charge. For example my MB is extremely pro life so I just set it so she couldn't see I was a fan of Planned Parenthood.

I have two of my past charges (and their dad- mb doesn't do Facebook.) on mine, but I have privacy settings set carefully and have created lists/groups of people to exclude certain people from certain info. But I don't post much that could be seen as partying/irresponsible/etc.

I had former charges as FB friends. I added "groups" to filter out stuff that I thought wasn't for the 7-10 crowd.

Tell them you want to keep your professional and private life separate. I don't even friend my family members on Facebook so there's no reason way I would friend my boss.

It feels a bit odd that they wanted that. Maybe after you're onto your next job. Yeah, make all your settings private.

Dont do it. Block them both, turn everything private and make a fake account that is child and career friendly.

Don't accept their friend requests. Tell MB you need to keep your personal life separate and you hope she understands.

You should lock down your online activity to be extremely private. You work in a child-focused field, it's very important.
You should not add them if you actively use FB the way you describe.

My charge and her MB are both very sweet people. We have a great relationship and no problems in the past year that I've been working for them.
My charge is 9 and is now allowed to have a Facebook account. When I got home I noticed they had both added me. Now, my Facebook isn't very kid friendly my profile reflects that of a socially active 25 year old girl. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for my charge to see pictures of me taking tequila shots or pictures of me and my girlfriends on our trip to Cancun or nightclub photos from Saturday night. I'm not super Facebook savvy, and I may see if there's a way to filter my past photos so she can't see them. Does anybody else have their charges or MB on Facebook? Is that a boundary that should be drawn? Thanks!
