Reasonable MBs. Oxymoron.

Forgot to mention, I spoke with my boss and we came up with a solution that works for the both of us regarding tomorrow. I will go in to work at my normal time and either I will take baby with me to doctor or MB will work from home in the morning so I can skip out for an hour. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm on the mend, but just want everything documented in case there's any long term injuries.

Feeling stiff and sore still. Think I should follow up with my doctor at the very least. Thanks for asking.

Yes, it sucks when our nanny can't come in, but we figure it out. You were in an accident and are in pain - stay at home and rest, and use the sick days. Your employers understand that life happens, and if they are decent people, they won't begrudge a day or two off after you've been in a bad accident.

I agree with this, but I would be annoyed if you didn't make the decision until Monday morning because you didn't want to use up your PTO. Call them ASAP and tell them you can't work Monday per doctor's orders, and see what they would like to do going forward.

By about 2 days after the accident, I was able to operate pretty normally.

Now, obviously you know yourself much better than I do, I just wanted to let you know not to get too discouraged by your seemingly slow healing process, as you may very well still be fine come Monday morning.

Take some extra strength ibuprofen tonight and if you're not feeling better tomorrow morning call your bosses and let them know the details. If you truly are concerned for MB/DB work schedules, you could perhaps give them the option of working a half day, or say something along the lines of "I'm feeling a little better, but still not 100%, the baby and I will need to have a pretty low key snuggle day"

None of this is to say you should feel obligated to go to work. If you really don't feel up to it, tell them! They'll figure something out.

Thank you.

911 is the police. This wasn't a little fender bender, the woman plowed into the back of my car and is getting ticketed by the police officer for causing the accident.

Disagree 22:11. I'd just dial 911, and in fact that's what I've done in car accidents.

OP, call your boss tomorrow and tell them, "I'm so sorry, but am in way too much pain to come to work for the next few days. I'm calling a chiropractor first thing Monday morning, and trying to get better ASAP so I can get back to work right away."

Take some hot baths, go see a chiropractor, and see how you feel Tuesday. Your bosses should understand, since they chose to hire a human being rather than a robot, and humans get sick sometimes.

That's life. I'd be totally fine with it, and would take Monday off. I'd also be sorry you're in pain, and would be hoping you'd be OK soon. (And not just because you'd be back at work soon.)

They already know I was in an accident. I called them before I called 911 to let them know I was in an accident and that I wasn't going to make it to work yesterday. As I said in my post, I was hoping to rest all weekend and feel okay to work Monday. I'm realizing now that I may not be able to lift the baby up and down the stairs, in and out of crib and high chair, and so on.

Call them right away to let them know you've been in a car accident, and what your doctor told you. That's all.

Yesterday I was rear ended on my way to work and ended up going to the hospital. Nothing is broken but I'm experiencing a lot of pain in my hip, leg and lower back. I was hoping to rest all weekend and be able to work on Monday, but with how I am feeling today I am not so sure I will be able to work. I work full-time for a really wonderful family who has no back up childcare or family in the area. The doctor at the hospital told me to take it easy and follow up with my primary before going back to work. I don't know what to do. This isn't a situation where I can just call out for a few days without it affecting both MB and DB work schedules. Would it be reasonable for me to contact them this evening or tomorrow and let them know how I am feeling and see what they would like me to do? I have two weeks worth of PTO/Vacation time- but feel that it should be used with notice such as taking a vacation that's been planned for months. I don't want to lose my job, I really love it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
