Glad you're so easily entertained. I certainly had my share of good humor for the day. You should have some to.

I am being paid MORE because MB has me in HER house to obey HER rules 24/7.

You are being paid less because you have no rent, utities, and food. But if you have to bring your own furniture, I'd renegotiate.

Nanny here. I always stipulate a trial period. But then again, it's "at will", so you leave if it gets bad. The contract does not matter in court.

Hope you agreed on a trial period, just in case.

I'd prob only bring things that were easy to move incase it didn't work out. If they have furniture than use theirs .

Depends what they're offering. My suite already had a bed, dressers, couch, chair, vanity, TV, night stands, etc. I only brought personal items. Ie; clothes, picture frames, etc.

I have had my own furniture for the most part. I started with my first live-in position and left all furniture behind but ended up regretting that. They had a queen bed for me but it ended up being an extra firm and gave me bruises while sleeping. I didn't sleep good for 3 months straight before I was able to replace it with a used cal king plush bed. I also ended up getting random bits of furniture here and there, some stayed at my first position, the rest moved with me. I took 2 positions where I didn't need my stuff so it stayed in storage for about a year and a half. I knew that it would be hard to replace some of it, or I didn't want to, so storage was the best thing in those situations. I try not to have TOO much stuff, but everything I own, including furniture and all suitcases etc, can fit into a 4x8 storage unit. I have always had my own electronics, unless the tv needs a specific cable or satellite box which they supply. I prefer to keep my own things and move them than to have my family supply these items which means I would have to take whatever they give me (CRT tv instead of LCD for example).

I was a live-in a year ago. I moved over 8 hours away for the job. They had my whole "suite" furnished with a bed, dresser, night stand and desk. I didn't have to bring any furniture with me. The biggest item that I brought was my TV.

Well look at the space they're giving you and see what it comes with. Furnished? Tv/dvd player? If there's a kitchen does it come with dishes?

I'm just wondering... I'm thinking about transitioning into a live in from a live out.

What is it that you can't decide about?

What kinds of things did you bring with you? Like obviously the basics, but with bigger things, what did you bring to live with you and what did you decide not to bring?
