This is consistent with what I have heard about the downsides of a meek au pair. I've had good luck with German au pairs. Neither were meek. Both adjusted pretty well to life here, and both were very considerate and mindful of our few but important house rules.

Thai au pairs.

We've had two Eastern European au pairs who I would not describe as meek, but I would describe as quiet and not "in your face."

I think you can have a great match with a French girl.
They tend to be quiet and very pleasant to share your house with

Suggestions? We're a very quiet mild mannered family and are best suited to this personality. A loud person who likes a lot of stimulation (t.v., loud music, loud conversations etc...) would not be a good fit. I know I'm asking for a stereotype and everyone is different etc... But, I'd like to know the what previous families have experienced. It's a fact that some cultures have as their norm to be more passive and quiet, whereas some are more in-your-face. Interested in hearing from people who have some experience with this. Pleasant responses please! TIA
