Wow! I was never offered paid leave. I didn't even think that would exist for a pregnant nanny. I am quitting anyway as it turns out.

A nanny friend of mine worked until she was 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant. The next day she had her baby, and she'll be back to work after 5 weeks paid leave.

OP here. Ok, do you think it is reasonable to expect someone to work until 36 weeks with no health issues?

I didn't work much during my last week of pregnancy. I had a lot of prodromal labor and she needed someone who could definitely be there.
I went into labor at work and stayed until late afternoon with my prior pregnancy.

Correction: PP here, I am actually 34 weeks, not 36 yet. Wishing I was though. So ready!

I am 36 weeks and still working 50 hours per week, though I admit to not being as energetic or productive as I used to be, but they allowed me to stay on. I am planning/hoping to work to the friday right before I am due, which is monday, March 25th. I need to get to that last paycheck if at all possible. But we shall see. I don't even think she has begun looking for a new nanny, so she may be stuck if I go into labor early.

Just curious what a reasonable MB expecation would be in terms of how far along before taking leave provided no health problems.
