Care.com and sittercity.com can be good resources but you really have to wade through the under-qualified and unprofessional nannies. A good, competitive job with desirable hours should be getting a minimum of 30 interested applicants. I wouldn't be surprised that for every one good nanny who you actually may be interested in, there are 10 that are passes. Be patient and take your time to weed through the responses.

Ask nannies that you've seen (and liked) at your local parks/playgrounds if they have friends. That's how we found our first and then the second one - both wonderful

We are searching for our first nanny. We've put ads on Care.com and Sittercity.com. I've been less then thrilled with some of the responses that we've gotten. How did you find your nanny, any suggestions that you might have for the search are welcome!
