We started with making it a part of our everyday routine. For you that would probably mean before getting dressed, before/after nap, and anytime you are leaving the house or going outside.
We also went bottomless. That literally means no bottoms (no pants or underwear). Once they are reliably taking themselves to the toilet, transition to using underwear.

Parents and I are definitely on the same page. LO is 2 years and 5 months.
As for a schedule, she usually goes twice a day, but the timing could vary between 3 time slots, if that makes sense. For example, around 8.30am or around 11am, and then again in the afternoon around 4.30pm.
Pees almost every time she sits on the potty, but doesn't always want to sit on the potty.
She doesn't get a bath every day so I don't know if that trick will work, though we do put her on the potty before and after nap.
What is the no bottoms on routine?
We aren't in a huge rush and we don't want to push her, but we do want to encourage it. So I thought I'd see if there were any tips I wasn't thinking of.
Thanks for all the replies so far!

Nanny of 26 month old Twin girls. Twin A showed alot of interest completly trained with in 3 weeks. Twin B not interested at all screamed and cried every time i put her on the toilet or put a pullup on her so i would let it be for that week. try again the next week nope. Not into pullups which was fine. But this week she saw Twin A get a ELMO Sweatshirt and undies for completing her potty chart. Guess who now wears pullups and is going potty on the potty.

I potty trained my old charge. He was 27 months when we started the first week of January. He potty trained very quickly. By March, we were able to go out in just underwear. I did the whole "no bottoms on" routine and it worked really well. We also had a sticker chart that he LOVED.

OP, how old is your charge? Do they have a schedule of when they go or is it random? Different potty training methods work for each age group so I can't give any tips until I find out how old they are.

My charge is still young and doesn't necessarily show signs that he is ready..but I have started putting him on the potty just before bath time. I put him on there while the bathtub fills up and the sound of the water makes him go! The first few times it was surprising to him and he didn't quite understand but now he knows he's peeing in his potty and getting praise for it. He knows that he has to sit on the potty before his bath now! I let him sit there and read him a potty book. If he goes, great..if not, no big deal and we try again the next day,

I still have a few months to go before trying with my LO that I currently nanny for. In the past, sticker charts have worked great for me. Start out giving stickers for just sitting on the potty, and then when they go on potty and eventually stickers for having a full day without an accident. It's a long process but it works. Also, potty books are great to read on a daily basis while potty training. Are your bosses on the same page as you are in regard to potty training or do they expect you to do it all? Good luck.

LO is in the beginning stages of potty training. Any tips or tricks you can share? It's been a few years since I had to tackle the potty training stage.
