She can't speak for every nanny. Maybe that's how she is in real life (doubt it) but many nannies aren't. They take things to heart and get offended. And many nannies come on here to talk about their employers so the situation will never get better unless employers AND nannies speak to each other instead of holding it in and ranting or writing to others.

MB here - here's my problem: I am not a people person. In fact I'm quite confusing according to my husband and my parents. They know me well and they still can't understand my point sometimes. So it often helps to have someone to bounce a particularly tricky question or statement off of to make sure I get my messaging right. I like my nanny, I want her to like me, and I want her to keep doing her best for my kid. If I have something hard to ask or say I want to say it right. Unlike my boss I don't have training and years of experience managing people.

Nanny here. Just want to let you know that I am very easy to talk to. I am a people person after all. I understand that I spend a lot of time in your house so if you need to talk to me about food or rules or money just let me know.
