They were 4 and 7. Now that I look back I probably shouldn't of just walked out but she was really out of line saying anything like that to me. I was always great with the kids and very professional when on the clock. It's not like I was sleeping around. I mean this guy ended up being my husband.

Wow. How old were the kids when you quit that job?

When I was a live in it was wonderful until I started dating my now husband. They openly told me that they didn't like him when they had only met him a couple times. Then they said he wasn't allowed to visit me at the house during my off hours. I'm not even talking spending the night, they didn't want him there period. I really didn't understand what their deal was because my DH is the sweetest person ever. Keep in mind I was 20 at the time so they couldn't really expect me not to have any life outside my job.

Anyway, I ended up quitting on the spot and moving out immediately after my MB sat me down to tell me that they didn't feel comfortable with me staying over at my DH's place on the weekends. She actually told me that they didn't believe in premarital sex and that she her husband weren't comfortable with the idea of me having it. To say the least I was completely shocked and as I said immediately quit, packed up my stuff and left that night. Complete wackos. I do miss the kids though. Anyway, for the past 5 years I have been working as a live out nanny and couldn't be happier.

I do! I've been working for/living with this family for 2 years now and I am really happy. We're all really close and have really clicked since day one. Living in the same house as your charge really gives you an even more special connection with them than you'd have living out. MB is like a big sister to me and DB is kind of like a dad. I'm on the Christmas cards and they sign it the 'family unit'....it's really cool to have found such an awesome family and fit.

I am a live in and have been for 9 years now (yes, with the same family) and am very happy with my job. The family I work for is very respectful of my time off and my privacy. I would consider myself friends of my employers but that doesn't get in the way of the professional side of things. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better situation.

I rarely hear any positive stories from live-in nannies...a lot of them feel taken advantage of and overworked or not given enough privacy. I am a live-in and could not be happier! I love my job, still feel professional, yet I feel like I live with family. Any other happy live-ins out there?
