But don't look too early because no one wants to accept a job three months in advance, stop looking for work, then have it fall through at the last minute. This happened ti me a couple of years ago. Never again.

I'd start looking mid-May, right before colleges get out.

Our beloved live-in nanny of seven years is leaving us after she gets married later this year. Her last day with us will be at the end of July, 2013.

When we had our first child, we posted for a nanny in January and she started at the end of June. Is the timing the same for nannies of school-aged children? We're hoping to find another person who will stay with us for a long stretch, so want to have time for a good search. Just don't want to rule out great candidates if they won't be looking this early.
