It's no big deal if it doesn't happen all the time. But, I would re-phrase "My alarm forgot to go off" when discussing it with your MB. That doesn't make sense.

agree with 10:20. And then you make up for it by simply ensuring it does not happen again for AT LEAST a month. Honestly one of the things I just love so much about my nanny is that she is super duper on time.

On the rare occasion I've been late, I clock In at the time I arrived and offer to stay late, no change for the same amount of time I was late.
This has only happened twice in 2+ years with the same family. I felt so terrible even though it was a true mistake. By offering this I felt it shows my detection to the job

Calmly and honestly explain the situation. Let her know that you will take immediate steps to assure it doesn't happen again. Offer to staya 30 minutes lateror today. Most MB's will be understanding of a minor slip up or two. After 2 months of arriving on time, I'm sure she realizes that this was a one-time thing.
