I'm a 0-2 nanny, and I love it. It allows me to really dig deep and "specialize" in baby and toddler care and parents are willing to pay a premium for that (in my experience anyway). It's a little unsettling to know you'll have to job hunt again so soon, but it's not as bad as you might think

No, but you need to be prepared to search for a new job every couple of years. Most people like to stay with their job, if they can, because it provides financial stability. But if you are ok with looking for a new position every couple of years, go for it.

I hear of so many nannies that stay with their families for years. However, I have found through my experience I am so much better suited to caring for ages newborn though age 2. I just delight in these ages so much! Is it awful though that from preschool age on up, I don't get as excited? I actually think the younger ages require more work, but I find it so much more rewarding at those rapid stages of development. I was so much more excited to go to work when I cared for that age than I do now with older kids. Is this going to make it harder for me stay in this career?
