You need to give her the receipt for the syrup now. Just say you forgot to give it to her the morning you got it. Next time she asks you to come half an hour later just say something like you need the money. And lots if people have to get up early to go to work.

This just seems beyond crazy to me. Yes I think you should ditch this job (keeping in mind the PP advice; I would find a new job first). I would also sit down to write some guidelines when you accept your new job - such as always being paid when you are available to work - and no change of your work hours without permission from both parties..... Don't ever buy things for your employees with your own money

If you decide to stick around I would talk to her about paying you for all the hours you are scheduled to work - but she won't agree to pay you for them - so you'll either need to put up with her or find a new job

Did you know that the job did not include paid leave in the beginning? Did you know the hours when you accepted the position? If not, then go to where you can be happy, but remember to consider all things. the 25 cents and syrup aside, do you like your job? There are so many folks out of work right now, letting nannies go, or those afraid of the Yselina Ortegas....think carefully and good luck!!

Don't get me wrong, I love the lady, I mean she's cool as hell and a non judgmental person, raises her kids stellar. But seriously though? 25 cents??
Alright, here's the question my fellow forumers: I don't get paid for holidays or sick days or when I'm asked to come in late, obviously. Should I ditch this 'get your a#! out of bed at the crack of dawn' job or what?
