umm.. it's a meat market, not a night club - and way more trendy than anything else in RTC Great place to meat single guys, with good, steady, paying jobs, who might make for good husbands someday.. Jackson's doesn't have dancing, but the open bar patio is very nice and does get packed in the warmer months. It's where the preppy/techie/trendy kids go after work.. You have Google, Verisign, Sprint and others right there and it's easy to just stroll over.

When you drive by actually look at the people who are there on a Friday night.. It's a totally different scene than what you would see at McCormick's down the block - which draws and older crowd.

Please warn your APs about this. My AP went to Montreal this past weekend with 11 other German APs, and this happened to one of them - someone slipped drugs into her drink in a bar. Fortunately the girls she was with would not leave her alone w the guy and instead took her to a hospital. Not a fun way to experience Montreal!

One of my APs, who would go there, would say that men bought drinks for them all the time and brought them to their table. I told her that can be dangerous (think date-rape drug)...but it seems to happen a lot.

I'm 18:20 who suggested they might be drinking beforehand. They are very likely not drinking there as those places would be shut down in a second if there was any underage drinking. I know my sister drinks before going like I said, but when I was a teen, we went to these types of places all the time and truly just went to dance and meet people. We never went drunk. It depends on what your Au pair is into.

She made no accusations. The PP ( not the OP ) suggested they might be drinking before going there, which WOULD be a problem for the au pairs, if their host moms knew about it. Or if someone tipped off the police after reading this post...

I don't know that place specifically, but I have a 17yo sister who goes places like that frequently. They drink at someone's house beforehand and then go to dance and be seen. You really don't get the appeal? It's a place with a ton of other under-21s where everyone gets to pretend to be older they dress sexy, dance sexy and meet other people.
