If you're a pretty good nanny, it shouldn't be an issue. If you get fired, I would be very surprised & they're totally overacting.
I would think less of a nanny for:
1. Being on the phone while interacting with a live person standing in front of her (so rude)
2. Not being mindful about something money-related.
I would not fire the nanny over this, but if it happened a second time I might. Also, I would ask the nanny while out with my child to not be on her cell phone while interacting with store clerks.

I think the only reason MB would be upset is if you didn't tell her right away, tried to hide it, or didn't pay her back right away.
