You should never have agreed to a job before settling on pay

Well this is from November, so I'm sure OP has moved on. Do you really have no life that you can just drag up old posts without even reading that they are old?!

It went down because you let it go down. If you got paid $10/hr then the first time it went to $8 you should have said, where is the rest (x amount)? If you didn't say anything, they assumed it was ok and then tried it again (and obviously you said nothing again). So they took that as an ok to just paying you $8/hr from then on.

you should be flat 10/hr no matter what. drop this family. they used you.

"I think it's rude that you had me watch other kids with the intention it was free. There was extra work and this should have been discussed before. This can't happen again"

I had something like this happen too. I watched a little girl all day and all I was paid was $20. Some people are so cheap!

You got punked. Tough situation because the best thing to do would be to say something a the moment of payment, but classy sitters don't count money in front of people they sit for regularly. Unfortunately, if you wish to continue to sit for these folks, next time they call you politely say you need to discuss your current rates with them and the fact that they change when more kids are added on. The second family should have insisted on compensating you properly. Oh well, lesson learned.

It went down because the parents view you as a doormat.
Nobody but you is going to look after your best interest.
If you want to make more than $10/hour, tell them that your rate has increased.
If they don't like that then F$#% them. They can find a new sitter.
Stop being a victim and look after yourself.

What is your usual rate? I think you should have made your rate for this situation clear when she asked. At this point, I don't think it's going to accomplish much to say anything to her, but if she ever asks you to do something similar again, you need to say something along the lines of "I'd love to! But when sitting for two families at one, I expect $X from Family A and $X from family B, if that doesn't work for you all, then I'd be happy to just watch your children this Saturday.

OP here: i texted and said "I just noticed you only gave me 40 dollars. I was wondering if you meant to pay more." She said, you usually charge 8 right? I said "For most occasions I will, but since it was 2 different families I was thinking it should have been at least 10 an hour or both families should have paid 8 an hour."

You should have agreed upon the $$ you wanted, now I guess it's a little late to complain

They're cheap for sure !

A person who I have been babysitting for forever asked me to babysit for her yesterday night. Her friend in the neighborhood couldn't find a babysitter so she asked if we could combine families and I will babysit for all of them. It was 5 kids total.
She paid me from 7-12 41 dollars.

Do i say something???
