800 a week for a position that doesn't require driving is way too high. OP for a nanny who doesn't drive you are in the $500-$700 range for 50 hours a week. Nannies who can not drive have much fewer options in this general area. No driving knocks out many jobs and for the few that don't require driving the nanny needs to contend with how accessible the home is with public transportation.

2 elementary aged kids are far less work than a toddler and newborn. If you paid $14/hour, OP should expect to pay at least $15, but more like $16

I think $16-17 sounds right - you probably could go to $15 as PP suggested, but might find your candidates have less experience with two children of those ages (or maybe not). Best thing to do is to list your ad on the lower end of the range and see who you get for interviews - if you find your perfect nanny you have room to offer her more right off the bat or to give her a bonus/raise after three/six/nine months and if you don't find someone great, post your ad again at one or two dollars more per hour.

I'm sure that 20:04 doesn't employ a nanny. That's an unhelpful and exaggerated range.

Assuming you're paying on the books, you can probably find someone willing to accept a lower hourly rate because you need 10 OT hours.

On the one hand, with two kids so close together, that will be a lot of work.

On the other hand, I get the impression there are a lot of nannies looking for work right now.

$16-17/hr base rate, time and a half for anything past 40 hours.

As an aside; you might want to re-think your stance on driving. When your kids are older, you might want them to go to classes like gymboree or the library, where a driving nanny will be helpful.

When considering pay, allow room for future raises. Also consider perks like paid sick days, paid vacation, paid federal holidays.
