[/quote] One consideration is that not all families can afford both, and the housekeeper/nanny model might free up MB & DB (presumably also educated, experienced, dedicated) to spend more time with their kids. I think it could be worth the trade-off. Also, a nanny whose gets her hackles up about petty chores like unloading the dishwasher in a home in which she also eats/cooks (for the herself and the children) is not a team player and probably not someone who is going to be an asset to the family in the long run.
