Thank God for au pairs.
Indeed, legalized slave labor. Often, certainly not always.
Your trolling is prolific.
Legalized slave labor is a national embarrassment. I thought Obama would have spoken out against it. Perhaps Hillary, "the women's rights champion" will someday actually address this issue. But who knows, maybe she herself was profiting from the cheap foreign labor market while she chased a 'real' job.
Stop. Just stop. Your argument is insulting and totally incorrect on every level. Go whine on your facebook or to your friends (?), your insane opinion has no place here.
Look, you need to understand that many au pairs are abused. NOT all, but many. Their only recourse is to go back to their country if they report. Yes, some are lucky enough to get a rematch. They should have a designated hotline number to report abuses of the program. The first step is to start documenting what's going on. Why not??
No. You need to understand that comparing the Au Pair program, even in its abused state, to SLAVERY is inflammatory and just wrong. These women and men are free to leave their position, they are paid (however paltry) for their services, they have not been stolen from their homes, they do not have their children taken away from them and sold, they are not beaten, they are not property. Just stop with the analogy. It's insulting at best, not to mention incredibly privileged and ignorant.
