Pre-school teachers and daycare center workers have dress standards and they spend their days similarly. You guys who can't be bothered to dress like a grow up are just lazy. I'm usually on the defense against people throwing around the word lazy and entitled for every nanny, but damn really? You have a problem dressing like you give a shit?
I was a preschool teacher for years. I never worked at a center where the dress code was too dressy. I dressed in comfortable clothes that I could fingerpaint in. Preschools that require teachers to dress as "professionals" do not have your child's best interests at heart and end up with teachers who are afraid to do anything messy with their charges (IMHO).
I totally agree. I dressed in the way that I can perform better. Dealing with kids requires a lot of movements. Nannies/preschool teacher who are dressed so nice usually can be found on the side and just watching. Either they can't really move comfortably with what they wearing or too afraid to get dirty. Yes, I wear gym clothes too but damm they're much expensive than most jeans and I would say versatile enough to be presentable. I think the question that should be raise here is how decent some nannies dressed. As an employer, would you prefer nice but revealing clothes for your nannies? over yoga pants and sweat shirt? (I've seen minimal nannies who wears deep neckline shirt and shorts shorts or skirt) I'll bet your husband will gladly give their own opinion :) Let's add the bonus make up too. and Yes! judge us on what we wear because that's how you'll know how engage we are on stimulating and engaging your kids.
