Most people are overweight because of what they are outing in their mouths, not because of a medical condition. I get so sick of people blaming genetics, depression, medicine I am a nanny who works 10.5 hour days. I walk the kids in the stroller with the dog every day that I can. If we are very busy or if the weather is inclement then I walk the dog at 7 am and get a quick mile in before the parents and kids are awake..then 3 nights a week u go to hot yoga for a 75 min class...one night a week I go to hip hop and I spin on Saturdays. I cut up all of my fruit and vegetables and eat 5 fresh servings a day at least. I work very hard to nt be unhealthy. It would be much easier to go home and veg out and hit a drive through...people need to stop accepting being overweight and get out there and change things. No one gets overweight eating fruit and vegetables and chicken. Let's be honest.
Genetics has a ton to do with obesity. So do poor eating habits brought down through generations. Why do you think everyone has those friends who can stuff their mouths with junk all day and still be as thin as a rail? Because they're genetically predisposed to a higher metabolism. I can eat healthy 6 days out of the week, go out of a nice (not overly healthy, but not detrimental) meal one evening in my week and still struggle to keep weight off. It's because I was genetically predisposed to slow metabolism. In addition, I was also never taught proper eating habits. So I grew up as an obese adolescent before I even knew what that meant! Now as a young adult, I work hard as hell to keep that weigt off. But because I'm still 25-30 lbs overweight you won't hire me under the preconceived notion that I stuff my face all day? Awesome. You'd probably be the worst employer I can think to work for.
