We've had three au pairs that were in the 20-23yo range and only had the phone issue with one of them. Yes, many young adults this age are glued to their phones. But there are plenty that are mature enough to realize how to focus on a job too. And I know 30yos that are also glued to their phones and/or engaging in some other behavior during work hours, so you can't say that everyone should just hire a 30-something and everything will be perfect. There are pros and cons to all ages and all nannies (since they are all individuals). [/quote]
