Honestly all of the ex t or current big nannies need to get over themselves. Shaming OP because she choose to make a decision about who she hires! She is the boss and can hire whomever she sees fit. If you don't like that, well then that is too bad, because her decision has been made! Did any of you ever not do something wrong, and deserving of shame? I'm sure you have, so getting off your high horse would be most appreciative. Thyroid problem here, I know I'm big but working on it there...well, if you gave a damn in the first place you wouldn't be fat would you?... I wouldn't hire a fat woman either. Yes I will make assumptions and assume she can not keep up, as most can't. But it is my choice, if it bites me in the behind, then lesson learned. My choice, my consequence and will just hire a new nanny---but since I don't worry about that since I have a pretty amazing nanny, if I ever did this then it would work for the best or I'd learned from my judgment. Crucify me all you want, I don't care. I have a nanny whom I love and care for and does an awesome job with the kids. She didn't just claim she was healthy, she has demonstrated this and thus my kids have learned to like a lot of healthy foods, my kids love sports so we're good :). As for the big nannies, you can deny all you want or make an excuse and shame the OP. All you really need to do, is loo at yourself before you blame someone else for your short coming...you could have avoided getting as big as you did, and now you expect sympathy! Get real!
No one is shaming the OP...who we are shaming is those who automatically thinks that fat nanny equals lazy or unhealthy eater. I've said it over and over. Even as an "obese" nanny I never ate poorly. I never ate out of control. That just isn't how I've ever eaten. If you only want to hire skinny people that's totally your prerogative, but how can you use the argument that because of this factor you're getting someone who examples healthy lifestyle choices for your kids? I can't tell you how many average weight or skinny people I've met that have the most unhealthy lifestyles. If you use the argument I don't want a nanny who's overweight because I'm nervous of whether or not she'll be able to keep up with my active toddlers, then that's completely understandable. I don't blame the OP at all. I'm just sick of hearing the false assumptions. Especially from those who've never been there!
