I have a camera in my DD's room, so that I can look at her during her naptime when I'm missing her horribly at work and check during the night to see if she's for-real awake when she's fussing or if she might be able to self-soothe. Once in awhile it means that I happen to see the nanny (when I use it for the former purpose, obviously), but it's not what I'm looking for. The footage isn't saved at all beyond 30 minutes, it's just a livestream where you can rewind up to 30 minutes back. The nanny knows about it (the camera is totally visible and looks like a camera) and even how to access it (so that she can use it for the latter purpose, if she likes), but doesn't seem to mind.
Do you allow your nanny to use her phone at work to look at her kids, or anything else? I bet that you don't but you think it is a right for your to steal time from your employer by looking at your kid because you miss him?!!!
I'm also wondering this. How nannies are have their own children; sometimes they are not allowed to use even just a few min of work her phone; to make just a quick call, dr. Appointment or check their children, calls from meetings from school or emergencies. Probably if they are lucky, I guess these families would allow them to use it in their down time; but most of the time; kids don't nap anymore, so nanny can never have a downtime, never. Because she is always very busy and sometimes barely has 8 or 10 min to give a bite of her lunch. Poor nannies. I were a nanny mom; I wouldn't take a position like that. That would be selfish from employers. Because nannies have also their own family and their own children, mainly if the children are still little. What sad.
