[quote=Anonymous]I nannied for a work at home mother who never hardly even looked at me throughout the day and treated me like the help, rather than a part of the family (nearly full time). It was awful. The father seemed kind but the mother would go in her office and talk badly about me. Apparently. I didn’t realize this was occurring until one morning after I set the infant down for her nap. I did it the way you’d typically do it . Maybe the blinds weren’t at the exact angle she wanted and the blanket wasn’t at the exact CORNER of my SHOULDER she would have had it on hers, but I did it properly. baby had nothing in the crib, etc. But she gave me dirty looks often. so afterward I heard mumbling from mom’s office and when I sat in their upstairs living area I heard comments like “she and then more stuff being said filled in here____”…. and “she just needs to improve on some stuff I’m not trying to be mean…” (when she was.) I actually had not put the baby down or anything yet. Sorry I was grabbing her from her nap (end of nap)… so I took R down the stairs and at least gave her to dad, absolutely sobbing because I can’t believe my employer would behave in such a negative way behind my back about me, and I did exit the residence said sorry to the father and got in my car to leave. the mother had chased me down and tried to get me to go back in to talk to them and I was really tempted to just take off. Tbh. but I did. It wasn’t that productive, but I did. she did not write out the cleaning expectations so I simulated what she did for cleaning and I thought given they had a maid I did a DAMN good job keeping the home spotless until the maid would come. I cleaned her HIGH CHAIR. SPOT DEEP CLEANED. but the mother was still upset because she wanted me to feed her baby puréed food and not get any at all on her shirt. The bib shifts around so some did. Mom glared, huffed and puffed, etc. Worst nanny experience. reminded me of one of my high school bullies. So I for the most part have had experiences more like this with nanny parents. no thanks.
