Thanks a bunch for all the advices. So after talking to them my salary is now guaranteed (whether they need my services or not due to family in town or fam takes vacation)they made a change to our contract and would not be penalized for medical appointments as I mentioned that I’ve never ever got clipped for it. I have used the 4 sick days they gave me a year and added 2 more days since they came down with COVID last summer and I used all my sick days. PTO remains 10 days. Im at peace now, thanks again!!
Wow, funny how you didn't mention you HAD sick leave and PTO and used it all. They were appropriate not to pay if you used your leave for the doctor's appointment.
Where did i say I use ALL my PTO(i use pto for VACATION)and why should i get penalized if they got covid in August and then flu last mont and I had to use my 4 days/32 hours sick leave b/c of their sickness? Not funny at all. Employers have UNLIMITED time off and UNLIMITED sick leave yet when they get sick they never tell me? You bet I’ll be taking sick leave anytime they get any contagious disease and that would not be deducted from my sick leave.
No one has unlimited leave and if they do they cannot take as much as they want. Sounds like you should get a more flexible job where you can do what you want, when you want and get paid what you want.. good luck with that.
Nanny here-the family I work for has paid me about 14 days of sickness and 23 days PTO this year(our contract reads 6 sick days and 10 days PTO). They never deducted a dollar from my paycheck. I’ve gone to the dentist at least 2x this year and 3x to PCP, they paid me regardless. For reference, one works for Big tech and gets unlimited time off, the other is civil rights attorney and works all the time but takes 3 weeks vacation in the summer. Glad the nanny got things straight with employers.
