How is it possible that I can schedule appointments, play dates, playgroup, grocery lists, doctors appointments, etc. without using my phone when my charges are awake?
Probably because your charge still naps and mine doesn’t.
Then don’t do all your “phone work” when you’re out. Do it when your charge is home and engaged in something. Nannies on their phones in public give us all a bad name. Read the parenting forums and you’ll see countless posts about how daycare is better than a nanny because daycare teachers aren’t on their phones and nannies always are.
Any parent on here saying that is an idiot and honestly can’t actually afford a nanny. I’ve been to the park when daycares have brought the kids to play. Many of the instructors are on their phones, yelling at the kids or not paying attention at all. I couldn’t care less what someone who doesn’t employee me and post about how they pay $15/hr on here thinks. They aren’t the families I strive to work for anyway. But you go right ahead and try to win over the DCUM crowd.
