^^ Apparently, it's a 2015 Audi A4.

I'd forget the warranty, order a head gasket, and put it on myself.... After I checked to make sure that it really WAS the head gasket. Never would I pay 5k to have someone do something that I could do for myself in just a few hours. This is why everyone needs to know how to work on their own vehicles, or if you aren't quite up to that, at least find a mechanic you can trust who won't charge you thousands of dollars to do a job that should cost no more than a couple of hundred. I'm assuming that, like your bosses, you're also not driving a Maserati.
What? Lol well as lovely as all of this sounds I am not doing anything to this car when it's still under warranty and no fault of my own. It's a 2015 Audi A4 and the dealer is taking care of it and loaned me another to drive in the meantime. My car is closer to being a Maserati than theirs are, not that it matters but since you brought it up. I have an Indy shop that specializes in Audi and vw but it's in another city and the dealership I bought it from was closer. If I'd taken it to them I also may have had to pay upfront and wait to be reimbursed. The most I would probably do to my own car is change the oil and flat tires.
So, why couldn't you afford a rental if you can afford this very expensive car?
Op here. I didn't want to tap into my savings to pay for a rental car knowing that the dealer would give me a car in a couple of days and I had a way of getting to work. I have a backup fund for emergencies and I didn't consider me renting a car to drive their kids around when mb and db had a car available and she was just sitting around the house and had no appointments an EMERGENCY FOR MYSELF. Like it's mentioned elsewhere in the thread the contract never stipulated me using my vehicle but I've done so without issue as it's come up and have been reimbursed for it. I put my car in the shop on a Thursday and had a car to drive within 2/3 business days. Thursday and fridays we don't have appointments and school was out the following week. She wanted to give me rides and I wanted to uber. Though I appreciated it, riding with them was like I still at work so I was happy once she backed off and stopped insisting. I also have tons of pto and sick days I've never used and came anyway when others probably would've left them hanging. I budget my money a certain way and didn't want to change that. I'd paid my major bills and wanted to uber.
