Any idea on where to look for a male nanny? i have an 8 yr old, in PG County, looking for 2-7 3x a week in addition to light cleaning and maybe meal prep. Looking to start in Feb. thanks
My limited experience with 2 mannirs is thatbthry are very strong when ot comes to childcare. Not at all strong when it comes to housekeeping or meal prep. Whrn we switched to male caregivers we were given this heads up and set out expectations as such. Multitasking has not been our mannies strong suit.
Nannies aren't housekeepers. But I do also have the assumption that females will be better at cleaning things, although I do not share your assumption that males are worse cooks. I've have numerous females sitters and nannies for my children that could not cook at all. Cooking is a skill you don't just pick up watching mom work around the house like housekeeping, there is equally as good a chance a random male applicant can be the better cook vs. your female applicant. But OP you do need to make clear your expectations regarding housekeeping, not only for your nanny but for yourself.
