This poor family. The stress of the separation is so difficult--now they have a nanny being petulant and trying to capitalize on their chaos by getting an extra week off for pay...you should be ashamed of yourself. totally ashamed of yourself. You are getting paid! what a hustler.
+ 10000 This. Everyone needs to adapt to divorce except you, eh? You might have the technical right to claim pay for hours you weren't expecting to work, but morally? you suck. You might have had some sympathy until you suggested you should get paid $40 on top of what you were already making for NOT working. Loser.
You must be the angry DB! OP isn't getting a divorce. She doesn't have to do personal favors to make their divorce easier for them. She is available as per her contract and if the kids end up staying home presumably she will be ready and able to work as planned. Being told not to come in does not mean she has to pick up an extra job to get the money she is owed, especially at another work site, just to "be nice." If the family doesn't want to pay for time not used, they shouldn't have put it in the contract. No one is forcing them to send their kids out of town.
