What's the max number of children nanny might be responsible for on her own? Would it ever be all of them? Would your teen help? I frankly think it's overload for 99% of nannies. You want an exceptional nanny, so you need to offer an exceptional rate, $25-30/hr. I'd really like to know how even a parent could manage, and there's two high needs children in the family? A parent would most likely be winging it, one day at a time with lots of prayers. If you find someone who can "manage" the children, I'd call it a day, and not expect any additional tasks. How often does housekeeping come? Btw, I earn $25/hr for one very easy child.
We are doing a lot of winging it, and lately have been feeling very stressed ( me especially), we're floating the idea of a nanny to get some help for me and hopefully relieve some stress. I think the nanny ever having all children alone would be unlikely, but would like someone who could handle it if needed. I expect the the nanny would spend the majority of the time with the toddlers and school ager, the baby will mostly be with me early on, and the teen doesn't really need a nanny, but the nanny should be comfortable interacting with a teenager. We aren't asking for housekeeping other than warming food for meals , making sure spills get wiped up and kids tidy up after themselves. We don't have a housekeeper. The most we can afford is $600 a week and that would be if we got 5 day a week help. For 3 days we would like to stick to $450.
I wish you luck. Just start the search and see who bites. It's the only way to know for sure.
