The child is choosing to go hungry because they are not eating the FOOD that is given to them. Now if a parent refuseed to give any food them that's diffent. But in op's case the child had food but wasn't hungry enough to eat it. It's as if you give a child pasta, broccoli and chicken but they scream their head off and refuse to take 1 bite because they want chocolate cake. Same thing. Clearly they aren't hungry because a child who was starving and didn't know when they would see food again would eat just about anything. [/quote]
