Your rate is definitely a good one and ignore the crazy nannies on here who tell you otherwise. Breedlove has been quoted in some years back saying most nannies have a hard time passing the $30k/year threshold. That tells you a lot. You will get tons of candidates. I had a similar experience to the 16:35 poster and I searched in McLean. Higher pay does not equal better nanny. It is really luck of the draw and you need to keep drawing until you find someone you feel good about. Your rate and conditions are more than reasonable.
Families who can afford 60K and up for the nanny don't need to waste money on nanny payroll companies. They already have CPA's to handle all family finances. You should know that.
Puahaha. Our CPA does not because we prefer to find the expert in this area instead of having someone with general expertise learn the details. Breedlove does it for thousands of nannies and knows how to do it right. Our CPA, as smart as he is, would be doing it for the first time for one employee. Saves us tons of money for better service to have Breedlove do it. Plus Breedlove administers payroll, not just produces the W2s. That is, we tell them how many hours, they make sure the money goes in the nanny's paycheck every single week. Our accountant has better things to do than that. You've obviously never worked in a job where you were paid through a proper payroll company.
