We are not giving cash bonus but over the course of the year have given a total of 7 weeks paid vacations. Wow, this is great. You definitely don't need to give a bonus with a benefit like this. Not really. I used to work for a family who went on several vacations a year. Because we agreed on guaranteed pay, I was paid while they didn't need me but I don't consider that extra money.
But it is extra money. You're being paid but not working, several weeks a year.
I am not the quoted but you are wrong. It isn't extra money. When you are a professional nanny and you have a contract with guaranteed hours/pay, you know for a fact you are getting paid for all 52 weeks of the year. It is not extra money when you are already certain you'd be paid because those were the terms both parties agreed to when signing a contract. You may say that it is extra TIME OFF but regardless, that should not interfere with Christmas appreciation gestures!!!
