It usually is the rich people who are the cheapest. Like the saying goes, that is how the rich stay rich. Sorry to the PP who didn't get anything by samples, but I have a question for you. Is the two week's pay that she gave you going toward the two weeks that they will be gone and you are caring for the dog? Or the two weeks when they return and you will be doing childcare? Because if it is for caring for the dog, and is the same amount you make for caring for the kids, it is kinda a gift since your workload is reduced significantly since a dog is less work than two kids. Or am I missing something?
No, you are not missing anything. they paid me my regular salary thru the next 2 weeks . Not just because I have the dog but also because we have a contract that says my hours are guaranteed have they used it or not. She is the type of boss that, had she not left me the dog, she would've found itty bitty things for me to come in and work the hours so she can get her moneys worth. Yes I got my pay but that was expected. I am grateful that I'm in relaxed mode but I see so much $$$$$$$ floating around, I cant understand why people that can, isn't generous. I have been farther than beyond with this family, if I start to tell you what I have put up with this whole entire year you won't believe me! I'm not saying I want a tremendous bonus (that would've been nice) but how about something thoughtful? a photo framed of the girls? a gift card to a place she knows I like? $100 extra on my check "for coffee" or something???? You are right tho pp. Ever since I started working as a nanny I have only worked with very wealthy people. This family is by far the richest like, by a mile but also the cheapest one in regards to being generous to "the help".
